New Associate Director of MSTP has been named

​Dr. Audrey John​, M.D., Ph.D., Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine, has been named Associate Director of the MSTP. Dr. John joins current MSTP leadership, Dr. Wayne Yokoyama, M.D. (Program Director) and Dr. Daniel Ory, M.D. (Associate Director). Dr. John succeeds previous Associate Director, Dr. Robyn Klein, M.D., Ph.D., who stepped down from her MSTP responsibilities as of January 1, to assume the role of Vice Provost and Associate Dean for graduate education for the Division of Biology & Biomedical Sciences.

Dr. John graduated from Duke University before completing her residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington in Seattle. In 2008, she joined the faculty at Washington University School of Medicine. Her research focuses on isoprenoid metabolism in the malaria parasite, Plasmodium falciparum. She is a recipient of the Doris Duke Clinical Scientist Development Award, the March of Dimes Basil O'Connor award, and was selected as a 2016 Burroughs Wellcome Fund Investigator in the Pathogenesis of Infectious Diseases.
