Gurmukh Sahota’s perspective

In any MSTP, flexibility is key in order for the students to be able to graduate in a reasonable amount of time.  At the Wash U MSTP, this is part of a broader philosophy prioritizing students’ training needs. Wash U MSTPs are a significant proportion of the medical school class and their needs are taken into account through flexibility in the curriculum. As a result, MSTPs are able to integrate some of their core PhD course requirements into their first two years of medical school.  This allows Wash U MSTP students to start their core thesis work earlier.
