MSTP Announces 2018-2019 Named Fellowship Recipients

For the 2018-2019 academic year, three MSTP students have been named to fellowships supported by gifts from alumni, faculty, and friends of the program. We are grateful for this generous commitment to the training of physician-scientists.

John P. Atkinson Fellow in Human Immunology - Swapneel Patel
Swapneel completed his Ph.D. thesis "Murine Roseolovirus" in the Immunology Program, under the instruction of Dr. Wayne Yokoyama. He is currently finishing up the last year of his clinical training, and will graduate in May 2019. Read his thesis abstract here.

Robert Silverman, M.D., Ph.D. and Randi Leavitt, M.D., Ph.D. Fellow - Estefania Fernandez
Estefania completed her Ph.D. thesis "Characterizing the humoral response against flavivirus infection" in the Immunology Program, under the instruction of Dr. Michael Diamond. She is currently finishing up the last year of her clinical training, and will graduate in May 2019. Read her thesis abstract here.

Michael V. Seiden Fellow - Stephen Linderman
​Stephen completed his Ph.D. thesis "Improved Orthopaedic Repairs through Mechanically Optimized, Adhesive Biomaterials" in the Biomedical Engineering Program, under the instruction of Dr. Stavros Thomopoulos and Dr. Matthew Silva. He is currently in the last year of his clinical training, and will graduate in May 2019. Read his thesis abstract here.
