As one of the largest MD/PhD programs in the country, our students are the heart of our program. Coming from a variety of backgrounds, undergraduate institutions and countries, each of you brings a unique set of experiences and aspirations to the MSTP, and, throughout training, your fellow students will provide a built-in sense of support, camaraderie, friendship and community.
At WashU, you’ll receive excellent training in both clinical medicine and research, with distinguished faculty mentoring you in finding and pursuing your passions and ambitions. Many faculty are nationally and internationally recognized for clinical and/or research excellence by their peers in the physician and biomedical communities.
From admissions to curriculum to diversity and inclusion, our dedicated staff is involved in all phases of your education. Over the last 50 years, more than 700 individuals have completed their physician-scientist training at WashU and are making significant impacts on patient care and research around the world.
