Research summary
Alzheimer’s Disease manifests with various pathological features including the presence of amyloid beta plaques and neurofibrillary tangles. There is also an immune response following tau-mediated degeneration. One of the lab projects focused on understanding the role of the immune system and the glial system in AD. We worked on characterizing the degenerative mouse line with different panels of antibodies involved in various immune response and validating the cre-lox system used in the mice.
