Research summary
Cardiac amyloidosis is one of the leading causes of restrictive cardiomyopathy, albeit underdiagnosed and poorly understood with respect to the interactions between the abnormal protein deposition and the body’s immune response inducing remodeling in the cardiac tissue. My work focuses on leveraging different single-nucleus RNA sequencing platforms to map the transcriptomic landscape of cardiac muscle affected by transthyretin (ATTR) amyloidosis.
