Research summary
Siderophores are metal-chelating compounds secreted by pathogens to overcome immune sequestration by host cells, which are related to virulence in uropathogenic bacteria. To understand growth, variance, and compensation in siderophore profiles, knockout of siderophore biosynthesis in these pathogens was done and measured through LC-MS/MS.
