Research summary
During my first lab rotation, I worked alongside another lab member to evaluate a T-cell activating drug’s ability to improve CAR T-cell manufacturing. Initially, we ran a drug curve, testing the effect of a wide array of concentrations of the drug on cells to ensure that the drug did not have any unintended effects. Then, we generated two different viral vectors, each with a different costimulatory domain. We then used these to manufacture CAR T-cells. During the manufacturing process, we dosed a sample of each version of the CAR T-cells with the drug. The next steps involved analyzing the differences in development and the efficacy of the resulting CAR T-cells.
