Research summary
Activation of costimulatory molecules is crucial to the proper activation and function of T cells during an immune response. However, in the context of engineered CAR T cells, the effects of these costimulatory molecules are not fully understood. Understanding the subtleties of how engineered cells function in physiological settings is therefore key to utilizing these tools effectively in combatting cancer.
