Research summary
This past summer, I worked in the lab of Dr. Ting Wang to examine the contributions of previously identified transposable element-derived splice variants to cancer development. By knocking down these isoforms at the post-transcriptional level, we can gain a better understanding of the functional role that these proteins play in tumorigenesis and cancer progression.
