Research summary
The Corbo Lab is focused on discovering genes that confer protection against diseases that cause photoreceptor degeneration. A key part of answering this crucial question involves fine-tuning the virus delivery in CRISPR-Cas9 screening to ensure that each target cell receives a precise amount of a therapeutic virus. My summer rotation project therefore involves constructing a specialized, barcoded library of these viruses, which will be a foundational step in their larger gene-editing research efforts.
